Censorship at SDUHSD?

I write in response to the execrable Feb. 7 commentary, “A tale of two board discussions,” by Duncan Brown, the now-retired former president of the San Dieguito Faculty Association, a teachers union in the school district.

Sadly, Brown continues to misrepresent facts and promote falsehoods. One might wonder why Brown has raised his head now.

AB 495: Parental Rights on the Chopping Block in California

Parental rights are not a government grant. They are a God-given responsibility. From the beginning, God entrusted children to their parents—not to schools, not to the state, and not to social services. Parents are called to nurture, protect, and raise their children in truth (Deuteronomy 6:6–7, Proverbs 22:6). That calling is sacred.

Judge rules ‘false, misleading’ SDUHSD ballot designation

ENCINITAS — A San Diego County Superior Court judge issued a split decision on Wednesday regarding the ballot designation for a San Dieguito Union High School District candidate.

Judge Wendy Behan ruled candidate Kevin Sabellico cannot use “Educator” as part of his ballot designation as it is “false and misleading” and ordered the San Diego County Registrar of Voters to remove it. However, Behan also ruled Sabellico can use “Board Member” as part of his designation as it describes a real and factual role held by him as he sits on the county’s Department of Environmental Health and Quality advisory board.

It's even harder when teachers don't agree with their union’s LEADERSHIP and how their hard-earned money is spent.

Teachers, it's tough if you disagree with your union's political expenditures and their undesirable candidates.

When your values conflict with your teacher's union's agenda, such as their inappropriate curricula, morale and trust drop while division rises.

What can teachers do if they don't want to support a candidate they don't like or teach something they don't believe in?

GOOD NEWS!

Teachers can Opt-Out of their union and legally keep their benefits!
